Makita BL1890 18V LXT 9.0Ah Li-Ion Battery

The Makita BL1890 is the highest-capacity single 18V battery in the current LXT lineup at 9.0Ah, delivering up to 1.5 times the runtime of standard cells. It slots straight into any Makita 18V LXT tool and charges on your existing LXT chargers with no adapters or upgrades required. Makita part number 1915H4-0.

With 162Wh of energy capacity, the BL1890 is aimed squarely at high-drain applications where downtime between charges costs you money. Grinders, circular saws, SDS drills, robotic mowers and any tool that burns through a BL1850 or BL1860 too quickly will benefit from the extra capacity.

STAR Protection Computer Controls

The BL1890 features Makita's STAR Protection system, which allows real-time communication between battery and tool. The built-in memory chip logs usage history and relays it to the charger, enabling optimised charge cycles that extend overall battery lifespan. Protection is provided against overloading, over-discharging and overheating.

Built to Survive Site Conditions

The outer case is impact-resistant and the inner liner is shock-absorbing, designed to handle the drops and knocks that happen on a working site. Multiple contact terminals maintain a firm connection and consistent power output even under heavy vibration. A 4-LED charge level indicator on the battery lets you check remaining power at a glance without having to slot it into a charger.

Charge Time

The BL1890 charges from flat to full in approximately 85 minutes using the Makita DC18RC rapid charger. It is also compatible with all other Makita 18V LXT chargers including the DC18RD twin-port charger.

Compatibility Note

The BL1890 works with the full Makita 18V LXT range, but cannot be used with the following models due to physical fitment: DSP600, DSP601, DSS611, DRC200 and DRC300. Check your tool's compatibility before purchasing if you use any of these machines.
