The Stanley FatMax 0-42-063 is a 40cm digital spirit level with three vials and an integrated digital readout for precise angle measurement. The digital display shows the angle of the surface in degrees, which is useful when setting falls on drainage runs, checking pitched roofs, and setting up formwork where a simple level/not-level reading is not enough.
The 40cm length makes this the most compact level in the FatMax digital range. It fits into tighter spaces where a full-length level would be impractical, such as inside kitchen units, between joists, and on narrow window reveals. Despite the shorter body, the accuracy remains consistent across the three vials (horizontal, vertical, and 45-degree) because the digital sensor operates independently of the bubble vials.
The FatMax body is built around an aluminium frame that resists the knocks and drops that are part of daily site use. The digital readout is backlit for reading in low-light conditions, which matters in ceiling voids, under floors, and during early morning starts. The level holds its calibration well, though it can be recalibrated if knocked out of true.
Three vials cover the most common checking orientations without needing to rotate the level or rely solely on the digital readout. The horizontal vial handles floor and worktop checks, the vertical vial covers door frames and stud walls, and the 45-degree vial handles pitched work.
