The Makita DHP487Z is a compact 18V brushless combi drill from the LXT battery platform. Designed as a lighter, more manoeuvrable alternative to the DHP486Z, it suits first and second fix tasks where working in tight spaces and overhead drilling demand a smaller tool. This is a bare unit, supplied without battery or charger.
The brushless motor delivers efficient power transfer with no carbon brushes to replace, extending the tool's working life. Two mechanical speed settings cover both high-torque driving (0-500 rpm) and faster drilling (0-1,900 rpm), with 40Nm of maximum torque and 21 torque settings plus drill and hammer modes. The all-metal gear housing dissipates heat effectively during sustained use.
At just 172mm in length and 1.1kg bare weight, the DHP487Z is one of the most compact 18V combi drills in the Makita range. It accepts all Makita 18V LXT and LXT XP batteries. An LED work light illuminates the drilling area.
