The Stanley FatMax 1-55-513 is a 760mm wrecking bar forged from high carbon spring steel. The 760mm (30in) length sits between the 600mm and 900mm options in the FatMax wrecking bar range, providing a good compromise between leverage and handling for general demolition, strip-out and renovation work. Long enough to generate serious prying force, but compact enough to work in spaces where the 900mm bar becomes unwieldy.
The spring steel construction absorbs shock and resists the bending that standard mild steel bars suffer from under heavy loads. At 2.7kg, the bar is noticeably lighter than the 900mm version while still carrying enough mass to be effective for driving under materials and pulling fixings. The bevelled claw end pulls nails and pries apart timber joints, while the flat chisel end gets under flooring, skirting boards, sheet materials and structural timbers.
Both working ends are hardened for durability against repeated impacts with masonry, concrete and hardwood. The cross-section is engineered to resist twisting under asymmetric loads, the typical failure mode when prying apart framing or levering heavy materials at an angle. The polished finish resists corrosion and makes the bar easier to clean after dusty or damp work.
