What is the Soudal 115103 Mitre Kit used for?

The Soudal 115103 Mitre Kit is a two-part instant bonding system combining a cyanoacrylate superglue (50g) with an aerosol activator (200ml). It is designed for bonding mitre joints in skirting boards, architraves, coving, picture frames and similar joinery work where you need an instant, strong bond with no clamping time.

How does the Soudal Mitre Kit activator work?

You apply the superglue to one surface and spray the activator on the other. When the two surfaces meet, curing happens almost instantly. The activator accelerates the bond so you do not need to hold pieces together or use clamps. This makes it ideal for overhead work like coving where holding pressure is difficult.

Can I use the Soudal Mitre Kit on MDF and softwood?

Yes. The Soudal Mitre Kit bonds well to MDF, softwood, hardwood, PVC trim, and most porous and semi-porous materials. It is widely used by joiners and carpenters for fitting MDF skirting and architrave where traditional wood glue would take too long to set.

What is the shelf life of the Soudal 115103 Mitre Kit?

Unopened, the superglue component typically lasts around 12 months stored in a cool, dry place. Once opened, shelf life reduces significantly. Keep the cap on tightly between uses and store upright. The aerosol activator has a longer shelf life but should also be stored away from heat sources.

Is the Soudal Mitre Kit stronger than wood glue?

For mitre joints, the Soudal Mitre Kit provides a very strong instant bond that is more than adequate for trim work like skirting and architrave. For structural timber joints under sustained load, a dedicated PU or PVA wood adhesive with proper clamping will give a stronger long-term result. The mitre kit is about speed, not maximum shear strength.
