The Makita DHS680Z is a brushless 165mm circular saw built around Makita's automatic speed control system. Under light loads, the motor runs at high speed for fast, clean cuts. When it meets denser material, it shifts to high-torque mode to maintain consistent cutting performance without stalling. This happens automatically, with no input required from the operator.

The compact form factor comes from a downsized brushless motor combined with magnesium die-cast construction for the base, blade case and safety cover. The result is a saw that weighs 3.3kg bare but feels lighter in the hand than its weight suggests. At 57mm maximum cutting depth at 90 degrees, it handles standard timber framing, sheet materials, decking and most first fix applications without issue.

Bevel capacity runs to 50 degrees with positive stops, and the aluminium base provides a stable, flat reference surface for accurate cuts. The design prioritises blade tip visibility so you can track your cut line clearly. A dust blower keeps the line clean, and dual LED lights illuminate the work area from both sides of the blade for shadow-free visibility.

Supplied as a bare unit. Battery and charger sold separately. Compatible with all Makita 18V LXT batteries. A 5.0Ah or 6.0Ah cell is recommended for sustained cutting work.
