The Makita DBO180Z is a cordless 125mm random orbital sander powered by Makita's 18V LXT platform. It handles finish sanding on timber, MDF, painted surfaces and fillers, delivering the swirl-free surface quality expected from a random orbit action. Three pre-selectable speed settings (7,000, 9,500 and 11,000 oscillations per minute) let you match the tool to the task, from gentle finishing at low speed to more aggressive material removal at full speed.
The compact body has a low centre of gravity that helps the sander sit flat against the work surface without rocking. This makes a noticeable difference on panel work and flat surfaces where consistent pad contact is what determines the quality of the finish. The 2.8mm orbit diameter is tuned for fine finishing rather than heavy stock removal, so this is a sanding tool for second-fix and finishing work, not a substitute for a belt sander.
An eight-hole dust extraction pattern on the 123mm pad channels dust through the tool to a rear-mounted bag, or you can connect a dust extractor via the port. The hook-and-loop pad accepts standard 125mm sanding discs. At 1.7kg bare, it is one of the lighter cordless orbital sanders available, which counts during extended sanding sessions on cabinets, doors and trim.
Supplied as a bare unit with a dust bag. Battery and charger sold separately. Compatible with all Makita 18V LXT batteries.
