The ForgeFix ForgeFast FFCS8300 is an 8 x 300mm wafer head construction screw with a TORX T40 drive, supplied in a tub of 25. At 300mm, this is one of the longest screws in the ForgeFast range and is built for the deepest structural timber connections: triple-ply beams, post-to-beam joints through thick packers, through-fixing into structural supports, and heavy timber frame assembly where shorter screws simply cannot reach.
The wafer head profile sits close to the timber surface without countersinking, distributing the clamping load across a wider bearing area. The Elementech 2000 tan coating provides corrosion resistance for treated timber and semi-exposed conditions. The TORX T40 drive is non-negotiable at this length, as the driving torque required to sink a 300mm screw into structural timber is significant. Use with a high-torque impact driver for best results.
A Type 17 auger tip and coarse thread engage the timber cleanly without pre-drilling in softwood. Pre-drilling is strongly recommended in hardwood, engineered timber and near member ends, where splitting risk increases at this screw length.
