The ForgeFix ForgeFast FFCS8220 is an 8 x 220mm wafer head construction screw with a TORX T40 drive, supplied in a tub of 35. Designed for deep structural timber connections, these screws handle post-to-beam joints, rafter-to-ridge fixings, and heavy carpentry where the combined timber thickness exceeds what shorter construction screws can reach.
At 220mm, this screw penetrates through a standard 47mm timber section and deep into the receiving member, developing strong pull-out and shear resistance for load-bearing connections. The wafer head profile sits close to the timber surface without countersinking, spreading clamping force over a wider area than a standard countersunk head. This makes it well suited for face-fixing rafters, purlins, structural brackets and engineered timber products where a flush finish and strong holding power are both required.
The Elementech 2000 tan coating provides corrosion resistance for use in treated timber and semi-exposed conditions. The TORX T40 drive recess eliminates cam-out under the high torque needed to drive a 220mm screw into dense timber. A Type 17 auger tip and coarse thread cut cleanly without pre-drilling in most softwood applications. Pre-drilling is recommended in hardwood and engineered timber.
