The ForgeFix Spectre Advanced Deck Screw is a 4.5 x 75mm countersunk, Pozi drive outdoor screw with a green coated finish, supplied in a tub of 1000. The 75mm length suits thicker deck boards (38mm and above) and applications where additional penetration into the joist is needed for stronger pull-out resistance, such as elevated decks, commercial installations and public walkways.

The green coating provides long-term protection against moisture, treated timber chemicals and general weathering. These screws are fully compatible with tanalised and pressure-treated softwood and will not cause chemical staining or accelerated corrosion around the fixing point. The green finish blends with treated timber.

Spectre deck screws feature a sawtooth thread profile that cuts cleanly into both softwood and hardwood, reducing splitting near board edges. The reamer section below the head prevents jacking, pulling the board tight to the joist. A Type 17 slash point provides a fast start without pre-drilling in softwood. Surface hardening extends the working life of the tip and thread in dense and abrasive timbers. Pilot holes are recommended in hardwood, near board ends, and when fixing into dense species like oak or iroko.

The Pozi drive recess accepts standard PZ2 bits for powered driving. At 75mm, driving torque is higher than shorter sizes, so a quality impact driver or high-torque drill is recommended for efficient installation.
