The ForgeFix Spectre Advanced Deck Screw is a 4.5 x 60mm countersunk, Pozi drive outdoor screw with a green coated finish, supplied in a tub of 1000. The 60mm length is the standard choice for fixing 28mm and 32mm deck boards to 47mm joists, providing full thread engagement in the joist while sitting flush with the board surface.

The green coating protects against moisture, treated timber chemicals and weathering, making these screws fully compatible with tanalised and pressure-treated softwood. The colour blends with treated timber for a discreet finish on visible installations.

Spectre deck screws feature a sawtooth thread that cuts cleanly into softwood and hardwood, reducing splitting near board edges and ends. The reamer section below the head prevents jacking, pulling boards tight to joists without the head lifting. A Type 17 slash point gives a fast start without pre-drilling in softwood. Pilot holes are recommended in hardwood and near board ends to prevent splitting.
