How thick is this polythene dust sheet?

This is a heavy-duty polythene sheet from Everbuild, thicker than standard decorator's polythene. It provides reliable protection against paint spills, splashes, dirt and dust on both floors and furniture.

Will the 3.6 x 2.7m size cover a standard room floor?

At 3.6 x 2.7m (approximately 12ft x 9ft), this sheet covers most standard UK room floors with some overlap at the edges. For larger rooms, you may need two sheets overlapping in the centre.

Can I reuse this polythene dust sheet?

Yes, provided it has not been torn or heavily contaminated. Fold it carefully after use, paint-side inward, and store flat. Polythene sheets are generally more reusable than cotton alternatives as paint does not soak through.

Is polythene better than cotton for dust sheets?

Polythene is waterproof and stops all paint and liquid from soaking through, which cotton does not guarantee. However, polythene is more slippery underfoot and can shift on hard floors. Cotton sheets grip better and absorb small spills. For floor coverage where you are walking, cotton is often safer.

Can I use this sheet outdoors?

Yes. Polythene is waterproof and can be used as temporary outdoor protection for materials, furniture or surfaces during painting or construction. Secure the edges with weights or tape as polythene is light and will blow in wind.
