The IRWIN Record 53ED is a 270mm (10.1/2in) jaw width woodworking vice with quick-release mechanism and integrated front dog. The wider jaw accommodates larger workpieces and provides more clamping surface than the 230mm 52.1/2 series, making it the choice for furniture makers, bespoke joiners and anyone working regularly with wider boards and panels.
The quick-release lever disengages the main screw for rapid jaw adjustment. Pull the jaw out to the approximate position, re-engage, and wind to final pressure. This saves significant time compared to winding the screw through the full travel on every clamping operation. The cast iron body delivers the rigidity needed for heavy hand tool work. Jaw opening reaches 380mm (15in).
The integrated front dog works with bench dogs for flat clamping during surface planing and finishing.
