The IRWIN Record 52.1/2ED is a 230mm (9in) jaw width woodworking vice with quick-release mechanism and integrated front dog. Built for permanent bench mounting in joinery workshops, furniture making shops, and woodworking classrooms where a solid, reliable hold is essential for hand tool work.
The quick-release lever disengages the main screw, allowing the sliding jaw to be pulled in or pushed out rapidly to accommodate different workpiece thicknesses without winding. This saves considerable time when working through a batch of components at different dimensions. Re-engaging the quick-release locks the screw thread for final clamping pressure.
The cast iron body and jaws provide the mass and rigidity required for heavy planing, chiselling and sawing operations. The integrated front dog works with bench dogs set into the workbench surface to clamp boards flat for surface work. Jaw opening reaches 330mm (13in).
